Becoming a certification body - how it works
Certification bodies wishing to operate in accordance with the Green Shape® standard must meet the following requirements:
1. license application to Green Shape e.V.
Interested bodies submit a written application for licensing to Green Shape e.V.. The association examines the documents on the basis of the licensing regulations. If the decision is positive, a license agreement is concluded.
In the event of a rejection, a new application is only possible once the reasons for the rejection have been permanently rectified and documented.
2. Formal certification for the Green Shape® Standard
In addition to the license agreement with Green Shape e.V., certification bodies must demonstrate accreditation in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065 and relevant expertise for the textile industry before commencing certification activities; they must provide evidence of this through accreditation for a comparable environmental standard for the textile industry by a national accreditation body (within the meaning of Regulation (EC) No. 765/2008).
