Brand protection and legal compliance against greenwashing 

With the introduction of the “GREEN SHAPE®” certification label, the Green Shape Association for the Promotion of Environmentally Friendly Clothing and Outdoor Textile Products (Green Shape e.V.), as the trademark owner and administrator of the Green Shape® Standard, aims to make a systematic contribution to environmental and resource protection in the textile industry. In addition, the initiative aims to raise consumer awareness of the environmental damage caused by the textile industry and the importance of sustainable textile consumption for the environment. 

Green Shape® is registered as an EU certification mark.  

The test program is based on publicly available requirements and covers the entire product life cycle - from material selection and design through to recyclability. 

Only companies that have successfully obtained certification under the Green Shape® Standard from an independent certification body accredited for the Green Shape® Standard and have entered into a legally valid license agreement with the trademark owner, Green Shape e.V., are permitted to use the Green Shape® trademark.
