Good to know:
Although the Green Standard was developed by the outdoor manufacturer VAUDE, it was fully transferred to the Green Shape Association as of January 1, 2026. Even though VAUDE employees are among the founding members and on the association’s board, according to the association’s bylaws, VAUDE no longer holds voting rights and is no longer involved in decision-making. This means that the Green Shape Standard is now completely independent of VAUDE.
The association operates in accordance with the principles of good governance, publishes regularly updated documents, and ensures the credibility of the Green Shape Standard in the market.
All certifications are conducted by independent certification bodies accredited by Green Shape.
